All us hard workin’ farm folks need some good deodorant don’t we?
We don’t want to scare too many people off.
Or do we? Maybe I should rethink this whole deodorant thing.
But I’ll still share the recipe anyway 😉
I know, this isn’t the most pleasant topic to bring up. Because when most of us think of deodorant, we think of armpits, and when we think of armpits we probably think about smelly man armpits, and that makes us think about those long man armpit hairs that get stuck on the deodorant containers. Here’s the secret though, when you make this deodorant, make a separate one for you and your husband – problem solved haha
I have tried countless homemade deodorant recipes – looking for that one that worked well, didn’t leave grease stains on my clothes and most importantly, didn’t have any toxins or chemicals.
I have been using this one consistently for over 6 months now and it is by far my favorite!
Bentonite Clay Deodorant Recipe
- 1/2 cup bentonite clay
- 2 to 3 tablespoons baking soda
- Water
- Your choice of essential oils – I usually use wintergreen, peppermint or lavender.
Mix up the bentonite clay and baking soda, and add little bits of water until it comes together in a smooth and thick creamy consistency – just not too much, you don’t want it to be liquid. Then add your essential oils.
Store in a small mason jar – a half pint is about the right size.
To use, just stick your finger in there and smear some on your armpits. Like a barbarian. And then go wash your hands.
Boom! It’s easy AND effective! Doesn’t get much better than that!
I hope this recipe works out for you as well as it did for me!
Blessings.

Hello, thanks for the recipe. Does this stain the clothes? How many hours does it usually last for?
wilsonfamilyhomestead
Nope, it shouldn’t stain clothes because it doesn’t have any oil in it. Any residue it leaves on clothes will wash right off. It usually lasts me all day, if not more than that. But you can apply as often as you need.

How is it for people with sensitive skin?
