I’m a big fan of gallery walls.
And plates hanging all over the place.
Kind of an eclectic feel.
I probably have too many things hanging on the wall honestly. But I just can’t choose between all my favorite plates and framed pictures!
Now, after reading through this, the post may seem silly because hanging plates is so crazy easy. But I’ve gotten so many questions about how I do it, and what I use, that I decided to just compile the instructions here and the link to where I get the hangers to send to anyone who asks! Makes things easier for me 😉
Plus, if I can inspire anyone else to hang up some farmhouse’y decor, then it’s a good day!
How to Hang Plates on a Wall
I like to use the metal plate hangers instead of a sticker you put on the back of the plate. That is because my crazy brain is convinced that they’ll un-stick themselves and the plate will fall and break.
So I bought a pack of these cool plate hangers. That set has quite a few different sizes, and that’s perfect because I had a few different sized plated I wanted to hang.
Measure your plates to make sure you’re choosing the right size hanger. If the hanger is too big, the plate will fall out. And if it’s too small it could either break itself or the plate.
Then you simply use the two hooks on each end of the plate hanger and stretch it over the back of the plate.
Hammer a small nail in the wall where you want your plate and use the hanger to place the plate on the nail.
See? Easy.
And there are still some extra hangers in the pack for when I find more plates to hang.
