The health of your boobs is important y’all.
If I asked you to name a few things that you use every day and that directly touch your skin, would you mention bras?
You’d probably mention body lotion and deodorant, and maybe you would think of clothing in general. But bras are one of those things we tend to forget about. It’s there, doing it’s job, but we don’t tend to give it the respect it deserves.
I mean think about it. Bras are cozying right up to our ladies, some of our most important body parts (especially if you are a breastfeeding mama). All day long. It’s vitally important that the fabric be free from toxic chemicals.

So I found these Irie collection bras through one of my favorite Instragram accounts @wildflora.wellness. I’ve been on the lookout for some sustainably made, more healthy-for-me (like my new word I made up?) bras to add to my stash. Awhile ago I switched all my underwear over to organic brands, because it was time. Time for new undies. Especially after them being stretched out during two pregnancies. Nuff said. But I hadn’t made the switch for bras yet.
But when I saw these bras over and over again on this IG account I decided to look into the company. I found out that these are hand-sewen and hand-dyed by a very small mama-owned company in the USA. They are made from sustainably sourced fabric, and they seemed like they were a more relaxed fit than regular wire bras (I wanted something that wasn’t going to restrict so much). Which all those things were a huge win for me! Plus, the colors and styles were absolutely dreamy! So I bought some.
Ordering
I ordered four different styles so I could get a really good idea of what I liked the best. Well, I actually ordered three, and the sweet mama who owns the shop sent me another one for free! (although this is not a sponsored post) They are a really small company that makes little batches of certain base layers and they sell out SUPER fast. I’m talking within an hour for sure. So I was shocked that I got that many that I wanted in one order.
I got the triangle bra (the free one), bare bra, reversible twist and the classic. And then just to wait until they came in the mail. I was so excited that I checked the tracking every day. No shame.
Give me a break though, it’s been over 5 years since I bought a new bra. It’s thrilling!
Since then I have actually gotten another one, the classic bra in the XL so I didn’t stretch out the regular one too much during pregnancy.
Sizing
They basically have two sizes. The regular one size fits S/M/L, and they are sewn relaxed enough and the fabric is stretchy enough that it works well! And then sometimes they drop the extended size that fits the three sizes above large I think.
Material
All the bras are made out of a soft blend of cotton and spandex, and are sewn in a double layer.
Wash
You can have a little instruction card sent with them on how to wash when you get your first order. I wash these separately from the rest of our laundry because I don’t want the gorgeous colors messed with at all, and since they are hand-dyed there is more of a risk of that. I also hang them to dry, even though the fabric is pre-shrunk, I like to do this just in case. They also talk on the instruction card about how acidic foods can change the color of the dye, so I’m careful to not spill food on these and if it does happen I wash them right away.

Oh my gosh. So cute!
I was just so excited to open up the package when they got here and try them all on! Maybe even all at once. Just kidding.
Or am I?
We’ll never know.
But they felt really soft and stretchy and yet super high quality. They all felt really comfortable when I tried them on. I do feel like the reversible twist bra, when its worn with the twist in the front, will fit me better when I’m not pregnant (probably about 6 months postpartum), and my breasts aren’t as full. But even now, it fits good and is is really attractive.
The classic bra was super comfey and I loved the basic style. I will say (because this is a super honest review) that it seemed like after wearing it for awhile it would come up in the front too much and I was having to pull it down a lot (this is resolved in the next section though).
The bare bra, super sexy and fits nicely!
Okay, and this triangle bra, is by far my favorite out of all of them!! It fits perfectly and comes down in a V in the most flattering way. I also felt like it would be the easiest to breastfeed in.
How I’ve liked them after using and washing them for several weeks now
I gotta say, that as much as I liked them to begin with, I like them even better now. The only issue I was having at all with them was the slight fit problem. But after that bra was washed and dried and worn more, the issue is now resolved! It isn’t riding up anymore or seeming to not fit properly. They must have just been stiffer from not being used yet or something.
Because now it seems the more I use and wash them, the more I like them. The more comfortable they are! And then the more I want to use them. So win win!
Do I recommend them?
Yes!!
Without a doubt.
I actually have my eye on getting a couple more possibly. I’d DEFINITELY like another triangle bra or two. Those are still my favorite. Possibly a classic bra. Just to fill out my collection and to have enough for when I’m behind on laundry.
So clearly, if I’m thinking about ordering more myself, they must be good!
Again, I love that the company is small and USA based. That they source sustainably made fabrics. That they are hand-dyed and then hand-sewn. So much love and care is put into these. I also love that they are more relaxed, without underwire (y’all know how I feel about underwire!). This style is such that they can be used for more than just bras. Did you know they can also be used for during yoga, as swim tops, or just hanging out? Amazing!
