11 Homemade Christmas Gift Ideas

Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year.

Yes, I’m one of those Christmas-weirdos that drinks eggnog year round and always has a Christmas song playing.

And I am proud of it.

I have so many great Christmas memories as a kid. It is just such an exciting time.

Not the getting gifts, but the giving. Even as a child I remember that being such fun.

To see their face light up as they opened my gift that I had carefully chosen and wrapped up.

I love it.

11 Homemade Christmas Gift Ideas

Especially if it was something that I made myself. That is even better.

And just think about what that means to the person receiving the gift. That you cared enough about them to actually go through the work of making a beautiful handmade gift for them.

So special.

All these ideas I’m sharing today are pretty simple, and don’t take super special equipment. Whichever idea you choose will be super special and everyone will love it!

11 Homemade Christmas Gift Ideas

Bath Salts

This is a really simple project, but the product feels so fancy and pampering.

Use different salts, clay, essential oils, coconut oil, etc to make a super nourishing bath salt that the people on your list will be excited to use! Put it in a pretty jar with a bow tied around it….

and tada!

A beautiful homemade gift!

HERE is my favorite recipe on YouTube.

11 Homemade Christmas Gift Ideas

Homemade soap

This is probably one of my favorite gifts.

I love soapmaking.

Now, of course, you don’t have to get into making it totally from scratch, and have to measure out lye, like I do. You can buy melt and pour soap bases and then customize them with herbs and essential oils and make them different shapes with molds or stamps.

But if you want to learn how to make soap from scratch, or want more recipe ideas, make sure you check out THIS playlist on my YouTube channel.

Beeswax candles

This can be such a personalized gift.

Go thrift shopping and hunt for various sized containers. You can use mason jars, pitchers, crocks, teacups, or anything else you can find. Whatever goes with the style of the person you are getting them for.

Use this tutorial and go create some super fun candles in all kinds of thrifted vessels.

You can create the most beautiful tapered candles by dipping the wick in melted beeswax over and over again, allowing them to dry and cool in between dips.

Also customize the scent! Use cocoa butter in your recipe for chocolate scented candles. Or any essential oils, or combination of oils, to make any scent you’d like!

11 Homemade Christmas Gift Ideas

Lip Balm

A batch of lip balm makes a lot of these little tubes, so they make great gifts or stocking stuffers. Or add them along with another one of these gift ideas since they are little.

Just hand em out to everyone! They will appreciate it.

Cause everyone’s lips seem to get chapped during the winter.

11 Homemade Christmas Gift Ideas

Canned goods

I’m a little obsessed with canning

I just can’t seem to stop collecting mason jars.

I canned over 400 jars this year. And I sure am thankful for the canned food stash we have!

But if you haven’t noticed, food canned in those clear mason jars, is very beautiful.

At least it is to me.

11 Homemade Christmas Gift Ideas

Grab a few pints of jam or other canned fruit, tie some jute twine around the rim with a little personalized tag and that makes a beautiful gift!

Homemade lotion

Homemade lotion is such a simple and easy project. You can even take it a step further and whip it into some glorious body butter!

I’ve shared several lotion recipes including a whipped magnesium body butter, and a basic lotion recipe.

This is really easy to customize too, with different essential oils and vessel options. Take some more of that jute twine and tie it in a bow around the lid for a cute, simple, rustic touch.

Kaluah

This is something you will have had to start earlier in the fall, but man does it make a delicious gift!

Be sure to make some of this for any people on your list who are obsessed with coffee (like me).

Use some vanilla beans, vodka, sugar, and strong coffee to make a Mexican coffee liqueur. Bottle it in half-pint or pint mason jars, and these make the perfect gift for someone who enjoys coffee.

Baking mixes (or baked goods)

Make some baking mixes for people who enjoy homemade baked goods, but might not want to take the time to make the whole recipe.

Layer all the ingredients in a jar so that all the ingredient colors and textures are accentuated, write the rest of the instructions on a homemade label and tie a ribbon around the lid.

Or, of course, you can just bake the goodies right away and gift them like that if you know they will be eaten before they go stale.

That makes a wonderful gift for someone with a sweet tooth.

Not naming names,

Ah-hem

Sugar + salt scrubs

Also a really simple and easy recipe to whip up, this makes a great gift! It feels very fancy and it is really easy to customize. Use different essential oils, salts and sugars to make a lovely scrub for exfoliating and nourishing the skin.

HERE is my favorite recipe.

11 Homemade Christmas Gift Ideas

Homemade vanilla extract

I love making my own vanilla extract. And it also makes such a sweet little gift!

I like to bottle it in half-pint or pint mason jars and then tie a string around the rim. Either put a little tag on the string or write on the lid what’s inside.

If you didn’t start the vanilla extract in time, don’t worry, you can still gift it! Just write on the jar or label when it will be ready!

It will just build up the anticipation to be able to start using the extract!

Hot chocolate mixes

Hot chocolate is pretty much an essential for Christmas time.

Mix up the dry ingredients for a few batches of hot chocolate. Put it in a jar or other cute container, and then write the instructions down.

It will be a hit!!

And there ya go. There are 11 homemade Christmas gift ideas. At least one of these ideas should work for everyone on your list!

Happy gift giving!

And blessings!

Pin it for later!
