Ok, I’m gonna tell y’all a secret that you might not know about me.
I love podcasts.
I’m slightly obsessed.
I listen to podcasts every single day while I do more mindless tasks like folding laundry or cleaning the kitchen.
And man does it turn something boring like that, into something I look forward to!
You can download them to your phone and listen around the house, in the car, on your walk, in the shower, just really anywhere!
I think I got into podcasts when I was pregnant with my first. Someone had recommended to me a podcast called Taking Back Birth to help prepare me for a home birth.
And I just went down the rabbit hole of birth podcasts from there.
I am 7 months postpartum with my second baby and I still literally listen to at least one birth story a day.
I just can’t seem to get enough of them.
I’m pretty sure if I wasn’t a mom I would be a midwife because birth absolutely fascinates me!
So all these resources I’ve compiled for y’all is my complete list of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum podcasts that I’ve collected over 2+ years.
My 7 Favorite Birth Podcasts
Mother Birth
I’ve probably been listening to this one for a year, and I think it has shot up to the top of my favorites list.
I love the birth stories on here, but I especially love the rawness and openness they have about miscarriage and loss.
Having gone through a miscarriage myself, before we had Sofia, this really gets me.
Something about hearing someone speak about loss, without fear, helps me process it and come to peace with it. I can’t really even explain it, but I love the openness on this podcast!
Doing It At Home
Now this will be your go-to recourse if you are considering a home birth.
Man, there are just hundreds of episodes packed full of information and ideas about almost every aspect of home birth.
This is recorded by a husband and wife, starting way back when they were pregnant and planning a home birth themselves. Since then they have been on a mission to empower other families to feel confident about their own decision to birth at home.
Plus, there is such a huge range of birth stories that are absolutely fascinating!
This is the biggest podcast out there that is dedicated to home birth and is so informative.
Down To Birth Podcast
This podcast is super informative about all things surrounding pregnancy, birth, postpartum and breastfeeding!
Cynthia and Trisha, who are the co-hosts of this podcast, are super knowledgeable and they share birth stories, do q+a’s, and bring in subject matter experts.
I have actually been on their podcast and it was such a fun conversation!
Taking Back Birth
This is the originator of my birth podcast obsession.
I have listened to this podcast for so long and it is still one of my favorites!
Maryn is a midwife and has 9 children of her own! She is just a wealth of knowledge and I always learn so much when I listen to her podcasts!
Birth Warrior
This is an offshoot of the Taking Back Birth Podcast that is dedicated to empowering birth stories from powerful mamas!
I just love the vibe of this podcast and all the stories on here are so inspiring.
I’ve actually been on this podcast as well sharing my “freight train birth”.
Happy Homebirth
Katelyn is the absolute funnest to listen to! She is super funny and interesting and not only is she a home birth mother herself, but she was also a student midwife. So she brings a lot of knowledge to this podcast!
The stories on here are probably some of my favorite and this is definitely near the top of my list of podcasts as well!
By sharing all these diverse stories, Katelyn encourages mamas to ban together and give each other the community support and the ability to lean on one another. Which is super important and so helpful in our motherhood journeys!
Rockstar Birth Radio
This is such a fun podcast! Shalome loves to encourage moms “rock their births”, and that they are totally able to take control of their birth experience!
She had a not-so-great hospital birth that lead her to a second birth that was natural, pain-free and that made her feel like a rockstar.
Since then she has been on a mission to empower other mamas in the same way.
Be Informed!
With this mix of podcast, you’ll have a ton of extra information and positivity to lead you into your birth and postpartum experience!
And blessings.
Pin it for later!
