Postpartum Herbal Bath Soak

Author: wilsonfamilyhomestead

Materials

  • 1 1/2 cup plantain leaf
  • 1 cup calendula flowers
  • 1 cup witch hazel leaf
  • 1/2 cup lavender flowers whole
  • 1/2 cup chamomile flowers whole

Instructions

  • Combine all these ingredients, measuring them loosely, in a large bowl. Stir em all up, and I like to store them in quart mason jars. This recipe makes enough for approximately 9 baths, depending on how you measure stuff – it really doesn’t have to be too exact.
  • Boil a large stockpot of water, and add 1 to 1/2 cup of the mixture that we just made, turn the heat off and let it steep for a good long time.
  • Strain off the herbs from your tea.
  • Draw a warm half bath along with your strained tea – just enough to cover your lady parts. And just sit there in all that concentrated herbal goodness for about 10 minutes.
  • Now you can fill the bathtub the rest of the way up. You can even bring baby in there with you at this point if you would like – or just enjoy a bath all to yourself.
