Pregnancy Belly Balm Recipe
Jump to RecipeYa know how during pregnancy your skin stretches a lot during pregnancy?
Especially on your belly obviously.
And thighs.
And breasts.
Well, when that happens, your skin can get really dry and irritated and itchy, and that’s just not a pleasant feeling.
You try to scratch it to make it feel better and it ends up making it worse!
Putting a really moisturizing lotion on daily can really help with that I’ve found!
This belly balm is full of super amazing oils and fats, which really helped during my pregnancies to keep my skin moisturized enough to mostly avoid the unpleasant itchy feeling.
Now keep in mind, that this isn’t a stretch mark cream. Stretch marks are genetic. So even though I slathered on the oils during pregnancy I still got stretch marks.
Honestly I am super proud of my stretch marks and have really come to love them. I am at peace with how pregnancy has changed my body – extra fat rolls and all. After all I actually grew a little human. That’s pretty cool!
Actually just eating a healthier diet with lots of good fats, protein, vegetables, staying hydrated, etc, in general will help some with stretch marks. It’ll help with a lot of things during pregnancy, including growing a really healthy baby! So a good diet is important too.
But this balm is mainly for the purpose of keeping the skin moisturized enough to keep it from getting irritated from stretching so fast. Which it does an excellent job at!

Pregnancy Belly Balm Recipe
- 4 oz shea butter
- 4 oz coconut oil
- 2 tbs vitamin E oil
- 15 drops lavender essential oil
- 5 drops orange essential oil
Combine, shea butter, coconut oil, and vitamin E oil in a double boiler pot over the stove. Heat until melted, and remove from the burner.
Add in your essential oils – you don’t have to use the same ones I did, just any pregnancy safe oils that suite your fancy.
Pour into a jar and let cool.
Slather on as much as you want on all the areas that are prone to stretch marks: belly upper thighs, butt, breasts, as needed.
And blessings!
